Enlarged liver basics
A normal adult liver is about the size of a small football,
and weighs 3-4 pounds or approximately 1.5 kilograms. Sometimes
however, the liver can grow larger than normal because of a
number of conditions, illnesses or diseases. When this
happens, it's called "enlarged liver."sometimes becomes
enlarged, however, and this condition is known as hepatomegaly
or simply as an enlarged liver.
An enlarged liver isn't considered a diseased
liver, but it's usually a sign something is wrong.
