Is There a Prostate Cancer Cure?
Thanks to detection, diagnosis, and treatment
advances in recent years, prostate cancer survival or "cure"
percentages have been increasing.
The 5-year relative survival rate for men whose
prostate cancer is diagnosed in the local and regional stages
is nearly one hundred percent. Because of more effective
diagnosis and higher awareness among men at risk, 86% of all
prostate cancers are now discovered in these early stages.
Recent research also indicates that the
relative 10-year survival rate is 86%, and the 15-year survival
rate is 56%.
The best cure however, is prevention. For more
