Stomach Bloating Treatment and
Prevention
Stomach bloating treatment
When you have a bloated stomach, you generally have a choice
of three remedies: time, antacids, certain herbs.
Time is usually everybody's least favorite
option. Wait a couple of hours and your digestive system will
probably come back into balance.
In the meantime, antacids may undo some of
the bad chemistry that's causing your bloated stomach. A
Certain herbs including mint extracts,
peppermint herbal tea (without sweeteners or sugar) camphor in
small doses and clove oil are all though to be helpful.
Stomach bloating prevention
Preventing a bloated stomach is, most of the time, just a
matter of common sense.
Avoid sweets and fatty foods
Be careful how much salt you put on your food.
Limit the amount of processed and fast foods you eat.
Eat foods that contain potassium, like asparagus, cabbage,
cauliflower and mushrooms.
Avoid antibiotics if you can. These can cause stomach
bloating because they destroy bacteria in the digestive system
that are actually helpful to digestion. Taking a B-complex
vitamin at the same time you're taking antibiotics will
help.
Sometimes, stomach bloating is a symptom of a gall bladder
problem, or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. This is especially true
if you experience stomach bloating several times a week.
