Stomach ulcer causes
Here are some possible stomach ulcer causes.
- the stomach produces too much hydrochloric acid,
- a family history of stomach ulcers,
- emotional stress,
- overuse of aspirin or anti-inflammatory medications.
Some other factors that may contribute to stomach ulcers are
- smoking,
- obesity, and
- aging.
An infectious bacterium known as Helicobacter pylori or H. pylori is sometimes responsible for causing a stomach ulcer. H. pylori, as it is
often called, is transmitted through contaminated food and water.
