Stomach ulcer symptoms
A stomach ulcer usually triggers pain in the upper middle abdomen that ulcer patients usually describe as a ache or burning sensation. When
the ulcer first begins to hurt, many people mistake the pain for heartburn, or acid reflux. The discomfort usually occurs a few hours after a
meal when there is digestive activity taking place in the stomach.
Here are some other typical stomach ulcer symptoms:
- pain in the middle to upper abdomen, usually occurring several hours after a meal,
- unusual weight loss,
- nausea
- vomiting
- dark, tarry stools or stools that contain dark red blood. These symptoms tell you that your stomach ulcer is bleeding.
It's best to talk to a medical professional to determine if you have a stomach ulcer.
